Fort Mason Center Gallery 308

The transformation of a former waterfront military machine shop at Fort Mason into a light-filled arts exhibition and events space is part of a larger campus-wide reinvigoration of Fort Mason Center’s cultural offerings.  The newly imagined multi-purpose venue is conceived to generate an active public realm originally collaboratively envisioned by Team West 8 and Jensen Architects.  The spaces’s inaugural event featured a transcendent sound installation by artist Janet Cardiff titled The Forty Part Motet.
